Last night we hosted an intimate women’s pre-holiday gathering at the home of Sasha Weisz to thank our generous donors and partners for their support this past year.
As organizations grow, evolve, and expand their reach, it can be easy to focus on outcomes, programs, and impact. But moments like this remind us that behind every initiative, every resource, and every step forward, there is a community holding it all together.
This evening was about that community.
It was an opportunity to pause and recognize the individuals who continue to stand with Margaret’s Legacy and who continue to support and encourage us as we grow and evolve.
We were especially grateful to hear from Vanessa Yakobson, who has served as a dedicated advisor and ambassador for Margaret’s Legacy over the years. Her words resonated deeply, capturing something many of us feel but don’t always articulate: that the way we approach Holocaust education today must evolve if it is to remain meaningful.
We often say “never again.” And yet, the world can still feel uncertain. Atrocities that once felt distant no longer seem as far removed as we might hope. That reality calls for something more than remembrance. It calls for us to build our resilience and help support that process for the next generation.
We want future generations to be armed with more than just knowledge of history. We want to provide them the tools to:
think critically
engage thoughtfully
and respond with moral clarity and conviction
That is at the heart of Margaret’s Legacy’s work.
And it is only possible because of the people in the room that night, and so many others like them, who continue to invest in a vision that is both deeply rooted in the past yet firmly focused on the future.
We are also grateful to the vendors who partnered with us, generously donating a portion of their proceeds in support of Margaret’s Legacy. Their participation reflects the kind of collaborative spirit that allows this work to grow in meaningful ways.
