Margaret’s Legacy Holocaust Learning & Jewish Advocacy Centre has opened in Hamilton on Main Street West with the idea of educating people on an awful period of human history.

The centre has artifacts donated by holocaust survivors that are connected to WWII.

Through the artifacts, people can learn how things were before the holocaust, during the genocide when millions of Jews were killed, and how life was afterward for the survivors.

With the ongoing conflict in Israel and Gaza, the CEO of the Hamilton Jewish Federation says a center like this is important now more than ever, to make sure everyone is educated on what people in the Jewish community have experienced.

He says he thinks the rise in anti-semitism in the city is due to the lack of information and lack of education.
